A teacher in the Colorado school district asked her class of third graders…”How many of you are Colorado Avalanche fans? Raise your hands if you are.”
All the students except for one raised their hands, eager to please their teacher. The teacher saw this, was perplexed and said…”Maybe you didn’t understand the question, Ann. I want you to raise your hand if you’re a fan of our Colorado Avalanche hockey team.”
“I know what the question means. I’m not a fan of the Colorado Avalanche. I am a fan of the Detroit Red Wings,” the little girl named Ann proudly replied.
Confused, the teacher said…”Why is that?!”
“My mom is a Detroit Red Wings fan and my dad is a Detroit Red Wings fan. So, I am a Detroit Red Wings fan,” Ann confidently replied.
By now, the teacher was getting angry. “Oh, that’s ridiculous. What if your mom was moron and your dad was an idiot?”
“Oh, well then I’d be a Colorado Avalanche fan,” Ann said.
